On April 28, President Dave “Korn Dawg” Martin and the Groundshakers Motorcycle Club will once again host the annual Groundshakers Desert Motorcycle Race in Lincoln County.
The 2nd Annual Casey Folks 100 is named in honor of the club’s founder, Casey Folks, who passed away suddenly in early 2017.
Folks formed both the Groundshakers and the Motorcycle Racing Association of Nevada (MRAN) in 1965. He was also the founder of Best In The Desert (BITD).
Martin is the current president of the Groundshakers. This is his 15th year at the helm, and he is the fourth president in the club’s long history. Before him came Jeff Phillips, Matt Gosnell, and Casey Folks.
This year’s event will be a Point to Point, starting in Panaca at the Lincoln County Rodeo Grounds, and finishing in Caliente.
The race will have all ages and classes available to participate. There will be some great money and prizes.
The AA Premier class will have a 50 percent payback, with $1,000 added to the pot, divided between the top three, and an additional $300 to the top AA Premier finisher.
Overall big bike expert will receive a $200 gift certificate.
Overall big bike amateur will receive a $150 gift certificate.
Overall big bike novice will receive a $100 gift certificate.
All 50cc, 65cc, and 85cc racers will receive a gift package at the finish line.
