LC Record: Owner raising money for restoration of Pioche’s GEM Theater

The GEM Theater in Pioche was purchased by Melissa Clary in January of 2020. The Record caught up with the new owner to see how progress is going with the restoration of the old building.

When the lights turned out in the GEM for the last time back in 2002, no one knew just how much time would pass before the place was shown some love again. Clary is now giving the theater some much-needed TLC and is planning to reopen, though she has a long road ahead of her. The property has drainage issues, and there are no original floor plans for the building, so it has been a slower start than originally planned.
