Sports/Action Photography Workshop

Meet at the brand new mountain biking trails near Caliente and learn how to take action shots in a gorgeous setting. Part of the Lincoln County Photo Festival – June 21st & 22nd

Directions:

From the Caliente Depot, take Clover Street to Spring Heights Road and turn right (east).
After road turns to dirt, go 1.3 miles and turn right on Tower Road.
Drive another 0.7 miles to the towers and park in clearings, keeping the roadway clear.

Suggested Equipment:

  • DSLR Camera with at least one detachable lens that hits any focal length in the range of 50 – 200mm. Wide angle lens can be use for one exercise in the class.
  • Memory cards for your camera
  • Camera batteries

Workshop Description: Learn the basics of Action/Sport photography with commercial photographer Michael Okimoto. This workshop introduces beginning and amateur photographers to some of the techniques used in capturing the height of the action for fast moving subjects.

In this 3 hour workshop, students will have instruction with hands-on shooting and demonstration.

Michael Okimoto Bio: Michael Okimoto has called Northern Nevada home for the last 20 years. He currently owns a commercial photography business in the Reno that has been in operation since August 2014. Previously he managed a commercial studio in Reno for 11 years.

In his work, you will discover the passion that drives a photographer to create compelling images for the viewer.

His recent work has been for focused on tourism and adventure lifestyle photography.
