Panaca Pioneer Day 2018
Theme: This is Our Legacy…

Hundreds flock to the quaint and picturesque one-street town of Panaca for the annual Pioneer Day celebration. It is a perfect opportunity for family reunions and saying happy birthday to one of the first settlements in Nevada. Panaca was actually settled the same year Nevada became a state. The event includes a parade and is filled with a variety of games, from remote control car races in the park to games on the lawn of the LDS Church on Main Street and a firework display.

July 20:

9:00 am – 5:00 pm Crafts Fair in the NCMC GYM – Melissa Free (Chairman) (435) 840-4497
8:00 pm Movie in the Park– Panaca Elementary East Lawn – Hosted by Nevada State Parks. Hamburgers & hot dogs and French fries will be served. Cost is $6 per person

July 21:

6:00 Dynamite Wake up
6:00 5K Run and bicycle ride to Cathedral Gorge. $20.00 entry fee w/free tee shirt
6:45 Flag Ceremony Troop 559
7:00 – 9:30 Breakfast Sunday school & scouts
7:00 – 5:00 Bounce Houses (Ben Segler )
8:00 – 2:00 Crafts Fair in the NCMC GYM – Melissa Free. Will have an auction/raffle and will donate all proceeds to the Scouts.
9:00 – 10:00 Kids’ Races – Doug Peterson, Isaac Gloeckner, Corry Wadsworth – Running Races start every 10 minutes
10:00- 10:45 3 legged races, sack races, wheel barrel races.
11:30 Money scramble hosted by Panaca Volunteer Fire Department and LC Emergency – Eric Holt
2:00 Ping Pong Ball scatter Football field – prizes include DQ Dilly Bars, Blue Man Group Tickets, Several Theme Park tickets
4:00 Parade
4:30 – 7:00 Barbeque Dinner
8:00 – 9:00 DJ Marty on the football field.
9:00 – 9:30 Fireworks Panaca & Pioche Fire Fighters
9:30 – 11:30 DJ Music

July 22:

Sales and ball drop, advertising, band stage and lights set up, breakfast, dinner, craft/skills show We have voting pages for floats. People decide. We will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. $300, $200, $100.

Papers will be given at the dinner and then winner announced at fireworks.
