Caliente is the half-way point between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City for the Union Pacific Railroad. The town and it’s mission-style train depot served as a bustling hub during the railroad’s heyday. The history of the city is intertwined with the evolution of the railroad in America.

Learn more about that history at the Box Car Museum, adjacent to the train station. The museum showcases documents and artifacts from Caliente’s unique and intriguing history.
