About the Experience
Your adventure begins at the Caliente Train Depot visitor center located in the south end of the Caliente Depot.
The tour will take you into parts of the building that most folks don’t get to see and you will hear stories of trains, people and experiences that offer a glimpse into the past.
Tour guides are well versed in local history and sometimes tall tales to keep you entertained.
After a lunch break, you will head down beautiful rainbow Canyon to discover a long, left behind, caboose. At this location you will also get the opportunity to explore the Elgin, one room schoolhouse, now a part of the Nevada State Park attractions. History is the attraction, but creating your own memories will be the bonus. The Depot and train cars are perfect photography backdrops, or you can choose one of the unique landscapes, train trestles, or dramatic rock formations; all are perfect for family photos, couple portraits, or social media-worthy shots.
Please note: Some areas of the tour require climbing steps.
