Only in Your State: Check Out the Alien Cowpoke and General Store in Rachel
“Imagine driving down the vast Extraterrestrial Highway in south-central Nevada. Exciting and exhilarating, the drive not only would showcase Nevada’s most barren and rugged lands, but it would feel as if you’ve left Earth altogether! There is little civilization this far out when it comes to finding fuel or grabbing a bite to eat. Luckily, for alien chasers, there’s one gas station along the Extraterrestrial Highway that beckons like a beam of light – just be sure to not find yourself abducted as well!”
The Travel: Closest Hike to ‘Area 51’
“Tikaboo Peak is around 26 miles away from Area 51. At a height of 8,000 ft (2,500m), the peak is not easy to the summit and requires some serious dedication. While it’s possible to do it entirely on foot, it is highly recommended to ascend most of the way in a 4WD car. The roads are unpaved and mucky, making them difficult to drive on with regular cars.”
